I hated to do it…I put it off all week but it had to be done. It made me sad ….even though it was a beautiful day (my mood is weather dependent). I had to put ‘Driving Ms. Daisy’ in storage. I will miss seeing her cute little bod, right outside my window….all winter. But I know she will be safe from any snow loads, heavy winds and rain, so I will adjust.
There was just not enough time this summer to get her exterior work done….I was just getting started when it got cold. I was able to remove some of her metal edging and re putty under them, polish them and put them back on. I didn’t get done but polishing the aluminum strips really spiffed her up….can’t wait to do it all this Spring. I have debated about painting and decided to leave the basic body off white and just do the stripe…..in a medium teal green. Having to store her this winter is costing a pretty penny, so she is going to have to wear her old dress…all polished up.
Can you tell where I polished a little, on the bottom right of the window frame? I also removed the emblem and the # and polished them. The lower outside metal strip has new putty and a bit of polish.
Maybe the outside will go better with the interior, come Spring.
Simply gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cute! You have done a great job on it. I would miss seeing it too. Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteThat's a real cutie with that dark curly hair...I bet he loves to come visit you!
Won't it be a special day to look forward to next spring to when you bring her home again . . .
ReplyDeleteHi, guess who??
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to have a little baby camper, kind of like having a play house. You will miss it, I'm sure.
I think I have everything under control here, I'm back on my blog, but I forgot how to post pictures!!! I put one on there but I don't know for sure how I did it. Well anyway, wanted to stop by and say Hi, hope all is well with you, except for putting the camper away.

Good idea to store her as we would not want anything happening to her like what happen to the other one in a storm. You have put so much work into her. I know I will miss her...
