I got my trailer, ‘Driving Ms. Daisy’, a 1969 Shasta 1400, in late October 2010. She wasn’t a pretty sight.
I was finally able to work on her in the Spring of 2011.
Once I settled on a color scheme, things went fast.
Recently I finally found just the right vinyl flooring for ‘Ms. Daisy’, at a big box store. I am so excited. It looks retro and has little bits of teal, soft red and the yummy yellow, that goes great with my curtains.
And I just couldn’t pass up this décor item…. big bird (20”) will have a place of honor on the exterior patio of the trailer, while ensconced in camp, with my fellow Sisters on the Fly.
Can’t you just see that new flooring with this color scheme? Out with the old and in with the new, as soon as I can find some warm, dry days, to return Ms. Daisy from storage.
Next, I will concentrate on the exterior paint. Narrowing down the colors is the hardest part, spoken like a true painting contractor….heheee.
It won’t be long before she can hit the road again……
Oh how I envy you! Your trailer is darling, and you certainly did yourself proud on her redo!!! I bet you are counting the days until you can "fly" again with the sisters!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!!! Love the colors and the redo!

There she is in all her glory. I tell you, you picked the perfect flooring for her and the decor! It was made just for her. I know you have to be giddy with excitement to get her home and start work.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how you were able to change the stove color. I love the red. Thank goodness you were able to get rid of that avocado green.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Miss Daisy bloom once again!! Won't be long after our little diversion in May.

ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with your Miss Daisy! I love the color scheme and that flooring is perfect. I sure wish inspiration would come to me as what direction to go with my trailer.I hope it hits me over the head soon! Or I will have to hire an ex painter for help - hint-hint! Loving this sunshine!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can already hear Willy Nelson singing in the back ground....

ReplyDeleteHi, also wondering about how you changed the colour of your stove. I have an older camper I am just getting started on remodeling myself. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAngie, you can buy drive train auto paint spray paint (good for up to 500 degrees) at any auto supply. They have at least a dozen colors. I had mine powder coated at an auto shop but would do it myself next time, since I found the paint. Easy to take off the door and top.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I bet you make a lot of friends when you go camping. I'm sure everyone wants to take a look at her! Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh Karen... it's AWESOME!!! So boho/happy/fun/chic/GORGEOUS!!!
