Sometimes I think I have lost my mind…. Don’t say it!
I spotted this at the thrift store last week and just had to have it. What is it, you ask? I believe it’s a foot rest or a little seat, maybe, from Turkey. It had just enough Mexican flair that I thought I could do something with it, in my 1969 Mexican themed Shasta trailer.
It appears to have been made in the 40’s or 50’s, and is beautiful red leather! Whanna’ hear the price? $10!
As you can probably see it has the old metal coils on the inside….see that hump?
My next find it this little old cedar box.
It’s pretty beat up but I plan to decoupage it.
Can’t you just smell the cedar?
Love them both!!! Great finds!!

You went thrifting without me!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! That almost looks like a saddle that might fit on a came or something but there is no place for cinches. Love the red leather. And, the box looks gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI think that red seat will look perfect in Miss Daisy!!! You could use it for foot massages, LOL!!!!!! I can't wait to see you art work on that cedar box!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to go thriftin this coming weekend!!
I agree, it looks more like a camel saddle!! Either way, it is a beaut!!

What a fun stool, perfect for Ms. Daisy. I have a box thing going on these days...you'll make it beautiful. I'm eyeing those springs and bucket in your pictures:-)
ReplyDeleteThe cute little stool should look perfect in your Shasta.
ReplyDeleteI had a little cedar chest like yours when I was a little girl. I kept my 'treasures' in it.
Nice find. Reminds me of a camel seat. Love your little trailer.
