I’m not real sure what happened yesterday….but I actually started a project. Yeah, it’s hard to believe. I have been stuck in ‘got no motivation’ land for so long.
I’m guessing it has something to do with being snowbound. Being stuck….has unstuck me! I kinda’ like it.
I got some measurements off the old vinyl flooring, from my trailer and crocheted a little throw rug, out of old sheets. This one is only 20 by 20 inches, I plan to make one more, for in front of the bed, for ‘Driving Ms. Daisy’, my 1969 Shasta trailer.
I pick up sheets at the thrift stores and cut (tear) 1-1/2 inch strips and crochet them with a giant hook (the size of my index finger). Actually, you can do it with your fingers, if you want. Fast and easy.
Here’s an oval one I made for my kitchen several years ago.
Do I have this right.... that cute little white red and beige rug you made out of old sheets???? I love it, even looks sort of Valentine-ish. What a cute little trailer.

Wow!! I love it Karen!! Great job!! And what a perfect color match for Miss Daisy!
ReplyDeleteI love it, I need to do some of these. I did some in my younger years.....
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! It must work up quickly. I have one of those big hooks, I should give it a try!
ReplyDeleteAnd Miss Daisy is so cute.
I love the look on puppy's face, too funny. Your rug came out really cute. I have made those too, but not with sheets, I know its fun to do. Your little camper is just way cute, its like having a dollhouse to play in.

I love Miss Daisy!!! The rug is perfect and you gave me another idea! Oh no!! A new project! I don't have a vintage Shasta (dream) but my little RV and I will be ready to roll this summer. I'm thinking maybe doing an extended weekend and pull her to Farm chicks! No, she is not cute like your! By the way I see Dash has a clean face and oh so cute! Glad to see you are unstuck, ha-ha!

Glad you are "unstuck"! How did you get Dash's face clean? He looks so handsome now. I love the rugs and your trailer! WOW! I wish my house looked that nice...too cute..I could move in!
ReplyDeleteI crochet and I could do that, I think. I need rugs too so there you go. I better go get busy and "unstick" myself from in front of this computer!
I made a slouch bag with the fabric in your first photo. You have a great taste in color!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I would have never thought to crochet with torn sheets. The colord of the rug are perfect for Miss Daisy. What a sweet face Dash has!
ReplyDeleteOK, the colors are awesome! I haven't tried making a square rug yet, but I did just finish another oval one for the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteOh & I Luv the fringe....

Your rugs are great with that fabric. What a gorgeous color combination!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use sheets. I have tried with upholstery fabric and it's just too stiff. Love the idea of using old, soft sheets.
