I got to enjoy some sun and beautiful scenery today, up on Mt. Spokane here in Washington. I am not a fan of the cold but wanted to try snowshoeing….for the first time.
It was 18 degrees, about 18 more than it had been recently, which is why we found all the creeks with frozen waterfalls. It was unbelievable. And it wasn’t long before I was pitching clothes right and left. I soon learned what might be required and what was just too much, even for these cold temps. It was a workout for me, as I have not even done any real hiking. But I kept at it and didn’t make them wait for me….too often.
I loved it and I met some wonderful new friends. P. S. I think they might let me come back.
Just to prove I was there….that’s me on the right.
One last picture I am sure you will enjoy…yep, that me….I turned around to take a picture of everyone and forgot I had on snowshoes…and landed on my butt! Yes, in front of everyone and someone even caught a picture of it to prove it!!!
So what did I do about it? I joined the Inland Northwest Hikers group on Meetup…no not another group…this same one…they accepted me. Do they have any idea what they are getting into?
Good for you!! I'd like to try sometime too!! Did you fingers and toes stay warm too?
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I enjoyed your neck of the woods. Visited the territory while my son was stationed at Fairchild AFB in Spokane. He was very kind and took me all around the great state of Washington. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteLOL,. Karen. Good for you (well, except for the falling down part) Congrats on being accepted as a member- I don't think they know what they are getting into- should we warn them? xo Diana.
