This is one of the school buildings in Simonga. Children start school by age seven to nine. And some go off to other schools later. My guide who was from this village said he wanted to go off to school, however, he said he was 23 so his chances might be slim. I met Miyanda who is also from this village and was working at the Tongabezi camp where we stayed. As a matter of fact, she escorted me to another nearby school which she had attended, that was sponsored by the camp. The woman that started the camp sponsored the school and hires the older students to help further their educations and families. Miyanda and I correspond and she has just moved to Lusaka, Africa to go to insurance school. So some of the children are able to further their educations.
