Life’s Road Blocks

The road I travel has taken so many twists and turns and so many detours lately…..that I have not been here to post.  I have felt overwhelmed with these road blocks of life; some are health issues, others are new responsibilities, and the ever reoccurring past losses and memories.

Winter always seems to bring on a bit of lethargy and sadness for me.  Some sad events from the past just tend to creep back in when the holidays roam around.  I am relieved that they are over…opps, sorry, I know most of you enjoy this fun time of year.

I just want to thank my loyal followers and I appreciate your hanging in there while I change a tire and get myself back on the road again.

  1. Hugs to you friend!...Just wanted to make sure you are taking a vitamin D supplement. It can help enormously with seasonal affective disorder (you know, that "sad" feeling we get in the middle of winter...from lack of sunshine)....I take vitamin D religiously!!!!! And remember....the past is just that...past. The future never gets here. All we ever have is today....just one day at a time. Sending hugs and well wishes...hoping you are feeling better ASAP!!!!! You need summer and glamping to look forward to!!!!

  4. I think more of us struggle this time of year than enjoy it!
For me, when I can fully embrace my sadness, I can make my peace with it- so to speak and then I'm are better able to move on.
I just tell myself, this will pass. You'll be happy again!

  5. This past years been a sad one for me too, Karen.
Had it not been for my faith I would've dwelled in self pity!
I had to look at all the blessing I do have and let go of the rest.
I will pray for you too. It's a new year full of new blessings and beginnings.

  6. WOW. This is some photo. Interesting how that tree grew. Sorry about the sadness and it often creeps up when we are least expecting it. I hope that you are feeling much better and now that the tire is changed, you are off and running again so that we can see those beautiful photos. In Arizona, it is going to be a warm spring with little to no rain. The desert will probably be mostly barren this year. Thanks for sharing and for returning. Always here.

  7. I so hate it when that stinking thinking creeps in. I'm sure part of it is the grays skies and part of it is our age. I know in this weather my get up and go has got up and went. Start dreaming about all the fun we will have this year. Try really really hard to quiet those past thoughts. Maybe a girlfriend lunch will help, I know if I was closer I would drag you out for some laughs. Take care and don't worry all us blogger friends will still be here and wishing you positive thoughts! Hugs!!

  10. This is one of those pictures that leaves me speachless. Kinda like the driver broke down, had to leave his truck to go get help and forgot where he broke down as his GPS and cell phone did not have a signal to guide him. Poor truck; but oh what a photo opt and a few laughs too.

I know Karen that life itself is hard and there are things that keep bringing up the past throughout the year which does not seem to go away. But with the holidays, it seem much more challenging. I lost my dad in December a few years ago and my mom at the end of October. So the holidays are tough for me, I was glad when they were over. I will ask the lord to lift your spirits and help you to shed those health issues and ease the sadness of those past memories. And may HE bring Joy to your life with his grace and comfort.
