Tracy and Malachi would like to get a flat screen tv for over their fireplace, so we tore out most of the wood box(reshape later). Tore out some of the brick to lower for better viewing.
The surface of the bricks will be covered with slate and a wood mantel placed on top. They are working on tentative ideas for the upper area. Can't wait to see what they come up with. As you can see, after carpet removal, there are lovely hardwood floors. They have decided to keep these uncovered for now. Carpet will go in the master and baby bedrooms. Of course, the baby's room is the closest to completion! :)
