I truly believe I must create something everyday! It is just part of my genes. When I was working, painting houses, I got to create everyday. I loved working with the colors and deciding where each could go and how many to incorporate into each site. I got to use as many as eight colors once, a true painted lady! The owner brought out a stack of Fiestaware dishes and said pick any of these colors you want to use! I loved it! However, the day he decided he wanted to change the colors on the back of the house to all one color not used on any of the house, I balked. We had a good part of that side done and I was not about to paint one side of the house a different color than the rest. I was not that creative! :) It was a truly intense labor of love (three levels) but we made the newspaper so all that hard work was appreciated.
Right now I have so many creative projects in my mind, I feel a bit overwhelmed. Knitting, crochet, oil painting, quilting, the list goes on and on. I use to say there is never enough time but I have all the time in the world now. I guess sometimes it is just my energy level, like when you are standing in front of a buffet loaded with every food possible, your 'eyes are bigger than your stomach'. In this case my creative ideas are bigger than my energy level. Darn, I hate when that happens. Ok, I will just take it one day at a time. I will create a little everyday. Sort of a creative diet! Ha! See you later, my knitting is calling.
I try to write the ideas down when I get that creative overload. Helps me remember them later when my focus is back. Have fun with the knitting!
