Turkey day

Yes, it was turkey day when this photo was taken in the late 1800's. I found it in an antique shop years ago and had to have it as there were ladies in long dresses with rifles! And pistols! And guns! I was just so surprised that these lovely ladies, in their long gowns and fancy hats would even touch those nasty things! I just had to have it and found an old frame, in my stash of frames, that set it off just right. I suppose they were just posing as we often do when gathered together for holidays. So I don't imagine anyone really got a turkey that day but it was a cute idea for a picture.
