Thriftin’ Time Tuesday

I haven’t shown any of my recent finds, so here we go….WARNING….grab a cup of Joe, this is a long post….v 007 (625x1024)Aren’t these guys adorable?….they are painted with wood burning outlines on wood planks…they would be so cute in a country kitchen, a chicken coop or a vintage trailer!  They are headed to my Etsy.

And I bought this for the frame but the more I look at it, the more I think I should keep it this way.

And this adorable little screen door just called …..”Karen”, put me on your back porch!”  So, what could I do?  I want to put my touch on it, too.  Not sure what I will do to decorate it yet….

I have had my eye on this large picture for some time.  I was inside the back room at Habitat for Humanity several weeks ago and spotted it.  The kid, said his boss still hadn’t figured out a price.  So I waited and waited and each time I went there, it was still in the back.  So this last time I asked again.  As you can see….it came home with me!  It is a stunning frame.  This does not do it justice.  It is an original painting, not in the best of shape but still a beauty.  The artist was born in the late 1800’s.  It has a couple small tears in it and the whole back paper is a mess.  The two little pictures I got at Goodwill in an auction.  They are of local buildings in Spokane, Washington.  (I have had these for awhile.)

I am sure, by now,  you have figured out that I like frames….I thought this one was a beauty.  I haven’t decided what to do with this yet.  I was planning to make a blackboard out of it, originally.  We shall see…

Is there a chicken theme, here today?  lol  It wasn’t intended….honest.  I found this hot pad holder/key holder and I believe it deserves a home in my new vintage trailer.

I found this pretty little wood box right here in Cheney, Washington.  We have a little antique store and I almost never go there!  Silly me!  This is going to hold my bling…for crafting.  You will see some bling I made at the bottom of this post.

My daughter Tracy, gave me this fun old box for Christmas!  I love it…I filled it with our next project.

Ok, here’s that bling, I promised…my first attempt.  Just over a week ago, Sharon hosted a Mother/daughter craft day at her house and we all ‘blinged’ picture frames!  It was so fun and everyone had a great time.  This picture of us was taken in 1999.

  3. Great idea for old jewelry....but I can't wait to see what you are doing with those old door knobs....they are more my taste. Those chicken plaques are pretty neat....they would even do great to gussy up a hen house!!
