My orchid just started to bloom again, so I have a flower inside!  Yeah!

 fall 012

Is that wild or what?  (Upside down.)

         fall 014

Here’s what’s blooming in the Chicken Mansion…..huge eggs…Amelia is producing about two double yolk eggs a week!!!  My three girls produce three eggs a day…sure hope that keeps up.  I will be keeping the light on……for those!

                   fall 013

  1. The flowers are beautiful! I am beginning to think I somehow purchased the non egg laying variety of chickens! I went to get feed last week from where I bought them, and asked them about it. They said that in their experience, most won't begin to lay until closer to 6 mo. They are now about 5 and 1 week. Sheesh. Plus, she said that due to the extreme heat, they tend to wait a bit too. So..I wait. But I am getting impatient!!!! Yea for your girls...and yea for eggs. I love those two yolkers!!!

  2. I am blown away by the orchid photos, you have an amazing eye for taking those, the center is outstanding.

Double yoke eggs... She is talented. Ouch on the big ones.

I cant wait to plant those seeds you sent and take some photos of my hollyhocks.

  3. Great photos, Karen!! Love looking deeply into the orchid....reminds me of a particular southwest artist whose name I have forgotten....due to the old timers disease!! HAH!

Great to talk to you yesterday!! Wish you were closer....

PS....Have a great weekend, hope the rain lets up.

  4. Your photos are spectacular! Reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe paintings as well.

  5. The orchid is just beautiful!
    Have a great weekend1

  6. Beautiful flower pictures. I hope my orchid blooms again soon.... I love them.

You must be eating a lot of eggs..... wow. Those are good looking eggs!
    Happy weekend!

  7. Karen, I am so amazed at your photography. Absolutely stunning. And I do wish my girls would produce double yolkers but with 6 to 8 eggs a day I really should'nt complain.

  8. Looks like you've got one oooo ahhhh in your coop!

  9. Loving those eggs Karen!!!! Isn't it fun!!!!! :)
