Fused Glass

fused glass 014

When I was visiting my childhood girlfriend, Phyllis, recently (we hadn’t seen each other in 46 years), I got to make fused glass.  Her husband, Wayne is a retired art teacher, and he conducts a play time with neighbors about once a month to make fused glass.  I just happened to arrive on class day!

I found the vintage stand, that it is sitting on, at a garage sale recently.  A perfect fit.  This glass is 7” by 10”.

This one was done by Wayne and was a gift from both my dear friends.

Thanks for the art lesson, Wayne and Phyllis!  It was a lot of fun.

  1. Being creative is always fun and does the soul good. Looks like you are on your way to a new hobby. But most important, is seeing a dear friend and getting caught up on each other's life.

YOU have some amazing creative friends.

  2. Very interesting project. I see in yours a very mechanical structured mind. What happens when you put it on a windowsill and see light coming through it?
