Last night, as I was going to bed, a thunder and lightning storm started up. So I quickly ran out to my vintage trailer, Driving Ms. Daisy, to close the windows.
I was just in time, for it started pouring rain….super big time. So I decided to wait it out.
It was a fantastic light show, with tons of rain mixed in.
It didn’t look like it would end anytime soon.
So I made up the bed, snuggled into my down comforter, along with my dog, Dash, and listened to the rain hit the trailer, falling fast asleep.
What a great way to ride out a storm.
Your flowers are beautiful, and I agree on the great way to ride out a storm! Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteWe dodged the bullet last night. Watched lightning east of us and west of us but barely heard the thunder. A few sprinkles and a little cooling breeze was all we got out of that horrendous storm!
ReplyDeleteKaren, it sounds like a perfect storm!!!! We used to stay in a cabin on Bass Lake that had a tin roof. We almost always got a summer storm while there, and I used to love it when the rain hit the tin roof. Such a wonderful sound. Cozy, cozy, cozy!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. Very hot and humid here. Ugh!!!

How nice!!! xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, Karen... that sounds like so much fun! Laptop, Wifi? Or did you rough it without all modern social devices... LOL
ReplyDeleteI roughed it but found a bottle of wine! Ha!
Deletenow that is livin', nature's sleeping pill, rain falling on the metal roof. Thank the lord for the rain. We have had a wonderful wet summer so unlike Ga. I am loving the color green.
ReplyDeleteThis spring and summer flew by fast, soon Miss Daisy will be retire for the rest of the season.
Have a blessed day.
Hi, Karen. I think I prefer your kind of storms. A storm is supposed to blow in here, too, but with temperatures in the upper 90s, it's bound to be a loo-loo (or is that lou-lou?). I always enjoy dropping by to read about your latest trailer/camping adventures. I am SO envious as I'm stuck house painting! And thanks for stopping by my place and commenting.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
And, such great sleeping with the raindrops hitting the tin roof. I bet you slept so well. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you might end up spending the night in Miss Daisy..Sounds comfy..
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to ride out a storm. An adventure on your own home ground. Love it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh fun! I watched the storm on the front porch with my teen boy. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was the best rain we've had in a long time.
♥
It was a fun way to ride out the storm.

I love the sound of rain on the roof when I'm all tucked in. We could sure use a heavy rain like that down here!
