Dilly Beans

As requested, here is the Dilled Green Bean Recipe from the post below…..

Dilled Green Beans

Yield: 7-8 pints

Green Beans~whole……………………………………….4 # (about 4 quarts

Hot red pepper, crushed…………………………..1/4 teaspoon per pint

Mustard seed……………………………………………..1/2 teaspoon per pint

Dill seed/weed……………………………..……..1/2 teas per pint (I use fresh)

Garlic………………………………………..……………………………..1 clove per jar

Vinegar (cider)…………………………………………………..5 Cups

Water…………………………………………………………………..5 Cups

Canning salt……………………………………….1/2 cups

I double all the spices in this recipe, using fresh dill heads and leaves.

Wash beans; drain and cut into lengths to fit pint jars. Pack beans into clean, hot jars; add spices.

Combine vinegar, water, and salt; heat to boiling. Pour boiling liquid over beans, filling to 1/2 inch from the top. Adjust jar lids.

Process in boiling water for 5 minutes (start the count as soon as the water returns to boiling). Remove jars, set upright, several inches apart, on folded towel to cool.
