Thriftin’ Time Tuesdays

                           ttt 002

I had a blast garage salin’ (someone needs to put this word in the dictionary!) with my daughter and grandson on Friday.  I haven’t been to many sales in the last few years and was real surprised at the cheap prices…..I felt like I hit the jackpot. Several of these items (total cost-$7.60) are for my trailer….the parrot, of course, the heavy duty flash lite, broom, doll and the folding table!  Maybe a little paint on the table is in order.  Those little plastic glittery bows are decorations I can use on gift packages.

The cog (part of a combine) looks good on my mantel above the fireplace.

But I really hit the mother load, before I even got a few miles out of town, (on my way to my daughter’s house in Spokane). Yep I got all of this stuff in one place…except for the broom.  Everything here except the broom came to….a whopping….are you ready?   EIGHT BUCKS!  And I think I paid $2 for the broom about a week ago.  And then as I was hauling to the car…..

I found these, wood cutouts to display by my Mexican themed, ‘Driving Ms. Daisy’ trailer.  A little paint and they will be a perfect addition…..oh, and 75 CENTS….YEP, that’s what I said!  They are about 2 to 2-1/2 feet high.

And I spotted these tall ( knee high) bottles for a friend, Bonnie.  She told me a short time ago she was looking for some of these.  One is round in shape and the other is angled…kinda’ cool and cheap.  Can’t wait to show them to her.

  1. Why anyone would buy new stuff is beyond me! The second hand stuff is so much better quality not to mention the prices! Less than the tax on new...

  6. We would like to sell our house in the year or two so my garage salin days have come to an end. That is why it is so fun to see what others buy and the fun things they do with the purchases. Good job!
